Senior Network and Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network and Infrastructure Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of a robust IT infrastructure for a leading organization in Riyadh. The ideal candidate will bring 7+ years of hands-on expertise in network systems, data center management, virtualization, and cloud computing, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance and innovation. This role demands a strategic thinker capable of driving infrastructure modernization in alignment with global best practices and SAMA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure Strategy & Compliance:
   • Develop, execute, and maintain infrastructure strategies compliant with SAMA regulatory requirements.
   • Lead efforts to rebuild and enhance network architecture, ensuring alignment with security standards and future scalability.
2. Network & Data Center Management:
   • Design, deploy, and manage high-performance network systems, including Cisco routers/switches, firewalls, and IP telephony solutions (Avaya).
   • Oversee virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM) and data center operations to maximize uptime and efficiency.
3. Cloud & Systems Optimization:
   • Spearhead cloud migration initiatives and hybrid cloud solutions, ensuring seamless integration with on-premises infrastructure.
   • Optimize server environments, including Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and MS SQL databases.
4. Innovation & Best Practices:
   • Research and recommend cutting-edge technologies (e.g., automation, AI-driven tools) to improve system performance and scalability.
   • Upgrade and maintain critical infrastructure software (e.g., Veeam Backup & Replication, Manage Engine products).
5. Collaboration & Leadership:
   • Partner with IT leadership to plan and execute large-scale infrastructure upgrades and disaster recovery strategies.
   • Foster a collaborative team environment, guiding junior engineers and aligning cross-functional IT initiatives.
6. Performance Monitoring & Documentation:
   • Proactively monitor infrastructure performance, troubleshoot issues, and minimize downtime.
   • Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, standards, and compliance processes.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 7 years in network infrastructure, cloud solutions, and data center management.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Proven experience ensuring compliance with SAMA regulations or similar financial sector standards.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Proficiency in Cisco networking, firewalls, VMware/KVM virtualization, and Veeam Backup.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft ecosystems (Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server).
  • Familiarity with Avaya IP Telephony and IT monitoring tools (Manage Engine).
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a track record of innovative thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• IQAMA: Must hold a transferable IQAMA.
