Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SharePoint Infrastructure Engineer to join our offshore team. This role is critical for maintaining the robustness, performance, and reliability of our enterprise-scale SharePoint environments. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in on-premises SharePoint ecosystems, possessing a deep understanding of farm architecture, automation, and complex problem-resolution. You will be instrumental in ensuring platform stability, implementing strategic migrations, and architecting high-availability solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Farm Architecture & Management: Design, implement, and maintain complex, multi-server SharePoint farm deployments (2013, 2016, 2019). Oversee all aspects of farm health, including service applications, search topology, and web application provisioning.
- Installation & Configuration: Lead the end-to-end installation and configuration of new SharePoint environments, adhering to industry best practices for security and performance optimization.
- Automation & Administration: Leverage advanced PowerShell scripting to automate routine administrative tasks, deploy solutions, and manage farm configurations, significantly enhancing operational efficiency.
- Database Stewardship: Apply strong SQL Server knowledge to manage SharePoint content, configuration, and service databases. Perform health checks, optimization, and troubleshooting directly at the database level.
- Disaster Recovery & High Availability: Architect, implement, and rigorously test comprehensive Disaster Recovery (DR) and High Availability (HA) solutions to ensure business continuity and minimize downtime.
- Migration & Integration: Plan and execute migrations of content, custom solutions, workflows, and third-party integrations from legacy platforms to modern SharePoint environments. Utilize tools like ShareGate to ensure seamless and accurate data transfer.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide expert-level support, employing strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex, multi-tier issues spanning SharePoint, Windows Server, and network layers.
- Platform Integration: Work within and configure the underlying Windows Server and Active Directory environments that support the SharePoint infrastructure, ensuring proper authentication and permissions.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- A proven track record of 4 – 10 years of hands-on experience specializing in SharePoint on-premises environments (2013, 2016, 2019).
- Deep, expert-level knowledge of SharePoint farm architecture, including the planning, installation, and configuration of large-scale deployments.
- Demonstrable proficiency in PowerShell scripting specifically for SharePoint automation, administration, and deployment tasks.
- Solid experience with SQL Server administration, including database management, backup/restore procedures, and performance tuning related to SharePoint.
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing Disaster Recovery and High Availability strategies for SharePoint.
- Practical experience with migrating workflows, custom solutions, and other integrated components.
- Familiarity with using ShareGate or similar third-party tools for migration and management purposes.
- A strong foundational understanding of Windows Server (IIS, security, features) and Active Directory (user profiles, authentication, groups) as they pertain to SharePoint.
- Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proven ability to resolve intricate technical issues under pressure.
