Role Overview
We seek a highly skilled Senior Virtualization and Infrastructure Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and management of our enterprise-grade virtualized environments. This role demands expertise in VMware virtualization, HPE/Dell server hardware, and Red Hat Linux administration. You will ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability of mission-critical infrastructure while providing technical leadership in a dynamic, high-availability setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Virtualization Management (VMware):
- Architect, deploy, and maintain VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter environments (v7.0+).
- Optimize resource allocation, cluster configurations, and DR strategies (SRM, vMotion, HA).
- Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and ensure 99.9% uptime for virtual infrastructure.
- Server Hardware (HPE & Dell):
- Manage HPE ProLiant (Gen9/10) and Dell PowerEdge (R740/R750) server ecosystems.
- Perform firmware updates, hardware diagnostics, and capacity planning.
- Integrate hardware solutions with VMware stacks (iLO/iDRAC, OneView/OpenManage).
- Red Hat Linux Administration:
- Administer RHEL 7/8/9 systems: kernel tuning, security hardening (SELinux, firewalld), and patching.
- Automate deployments using Ansible/Puppet; manage KVM-based virtual hosts.
- Resolve OS-level issues impacting virtualized workloads.
- Infrastructure Optimization & Security:
- Implement monitoring solutions (vROps, Zabbix) for proactive issue resolution.
- Enforce security protocols across virtual layers, servers, and Linux environments.
- Lead POC initiatives for new technologies and lifecycle upgrades.
- Collaboration & Documentation:
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams (Network/Storage/Cloud).
- Maintain detailed documentation for configurations, SOPs, and DR runbooks.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Experience:
- 5+ years in enterprise infrastructure roles with hands-on VMware, server hardware, and Linux.
- Proven expertise in managing large-scale VMware environments (200+ VMs).
- Deep familiarity with HPE BladeSystem/Synergy and Dell PowerEdge architectures.
- Advanced Red Hat Linux administration (RHCSA/RHCE level).
- Technical Skills:
- VMware: vSphere, vSAN, vCenter, vRealize Suite.
- Servers: HPE OneView/Dell OpenManage, hardware RAID, blade chassis.
- Linux: RHEL CLI, scripting (Bash/Python), LVM, RPM/YUM.
- Certifications:
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV) is non-negotiable.
- Red Hat (RHCSA/RHCE) and HPE/Dell certifications are advantageous.
Desired Competencies
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose complex hybrid infrastructure issues.
- Automation: Experience with Terraform, PowerCLI, or Kubernetes (VMware Tanzu).
- Compliance: Knowledge of NIST/ISO 27001 standards.
- Communication: Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
Contract Details
- Initial Duration: 1 year (full-time contract).
- Extension: Possible based on performance and project needs.
- Work Model: On-site in Riyadh with occasional off-hours support for critical deployments.
