Senior Windows and VMware Administrator

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned L3 infrastructure expert to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of VMware Cloud Foundations (VCF) and Windows Server environments. This role is specifically designed for a professional with extensive experience in private cloud platforms, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and complex automation. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of performance, availability, and security across a massive global footprint.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Management: Administer Windows Server environments with 6–8 years of professional experience, specifically focusing on on-premise deployments.
  
• Enterprise Virtualization: Manage VMware virtualization stacks (ESXi, vCenter, vSphere) for large-scale data centers containing 4000+ virtual machines and 100+ ESX hosts.
  
• Automation & Scripting: Mandatorily automate operational tasks and infrastructure deployments using PowerShell, Python, and other advanced scripting tools to reduce manual overhead.
  
• High Availability & Recovery: Configure and troubleshoot High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduling (DRS), and Site Recovery Manager (SRM).
  
• Migration Expertise: Lead and execute P2V, V2V, and V2P migrations, alongside bulk data migration projects.
  
• Advanced Troubleshooting: Provide L3 OS monitoring and deep-dive root cause analysis (RCA) for complex hardware and software incidents.
  
• Network & File Services: Manage DNS, DHCP, WINS, and Windows clustering while maintaining DFS/DFSR configurations and SMB/NTFS permissions.
  
• Hardware Support: Direct hands-on management of Dell server hardware products and related storage/network configurations.
  
• Data Integrity: Support SQL databases and manage Backup and Recovery clients to ensure business continuity.
  

Technical Qualifications

• Windows Expertise: 6+ years of hands-on experience in Windows Systems Administration, including advanced troubleshooting and OS hardening.
  
• VMware Mastery: 4+ years of enterprise-level experience with VMware 7.x/8.x.
  
• Automation Focus: Minimum 2+ years of dedicated automation and scripting experience in a production environment.
  
• Infrastructure Skills: Proven ability to configure virtual switches, port groups, and storage connections.
  
• Global Operations: Experience operating within large enterprise-scale environments with global infrastructure.
  
• Cloud Awareness: Basic knowledge of public cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS is preferred for hybrid-cloud context.
  

Education & Certifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E/B.Tech), MCA, or an equivalent technical field.
  
• Mandatory/Preferred Certifications: VMware 7.X/8.x Certification is highly preferred, alongside MCP, MCSA, or MCSE.
