Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Senior Quality Control Engineer to enhance our Quality Assurance team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing robust test strategies to uphold the integrity and excellence of our software solutions. You will spearhead manual testing initiatives, provide guidance to emerging talent, and partner with multidisciplinary teams to pinpoint defects and elevate the end-user journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to formulate detailed manual test plans and test cases.
- Execute diverse forms of manual testing, including:
- Functional testing
- Regression testing
- System testing
- Integration testing
- User acceptance testing (UAT)
- Utilize bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla) to log, monitor, and resolve defects.
- Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to ensure comprehensive test coverage and early detection of potential issues.
- Engage actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
- Guarantee exhaustive testing for all releases and authorize deployment based on established quality criteria.
- Conduct exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and latent defects.
- Drive enhancements in QA processes, test documentation, and organizational standards.
- Develop and sustain thorough test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test summary reports.
- Mentor and empower junior QA team members by disseminating knowledge and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in manual software testing, with at least 1–2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
- In-depth understanding of testing methodologies, SDLC, and STLC.
- Proven experience operating within Agile/Scrum environments.
- Proficiency in authoring precise test cases, test scenarios, and bug reports.
- Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Capacity to prioritize effectively and manage concurrent tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Keen attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- ISTQB or comparable QA certifications.
- Experience testing web, mobile, and desktop applications.
- Knowledge of API testing using tools like Postman or Swagger (even manually).
- Understanding of databases and proficiency in executing basic SQL queries.
- Exposure to basic automation concepts (though not mandatory for this position).
- Background in testing systems within specialized sectors such as finance, healthcare, or e-commerce.

Responsibilities
- Design and build modular, maintainable, and scalable test automation frameworks from scratch to validate our complex cloud-based applications
- Develop robust automated test scripts utilizing industry-standard tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, and Appium
- Conduct comprehensive end-to-end testing, including functional, regression, performance, and load testing to ensure application reliability and scalability
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Mentor junior QA and automation engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and promoting best practices in software testing
Must Have
- A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5–8+ years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance, with at least 3 years dedicated to building and implementing test automation frameworks
- Strong programming/scripting skills in one or more of the following languages: Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#
- Demonstrable expertise with modern automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or Playwright
- A solid understanding of software testing methodologies, the SDLC, and the STLC
- Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, GitLab) and continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions)
- Proven experience with API testing tools like Postman or REST
Nice to have
- Direct experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and a deep understanding of testing strategies for cloud-based applications
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Exposure to Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools is a plus
- Practical experience in performance/load testing using tools like JMeter, Locust, or Gatling
